Plans
Our Route safety planning has included the marshal plans for many routes
Our recognised speciality is in route safety management and design, we designed the route safety marshalling plans for many of Scotland’s closed road cycle sportive events, namely the Etape Caledonia, Etape Loch Ness, and the Etape Royale. In addition we undertook the scoping and initial marshalling plan for the Etape Pennines, and the marshalling plans for the Oxfam Trail Trekker, an endurance walking event, and Maggie’s Monster Bike and Hike to name just a few. Many of the events we support require our services for route safety planning.
In conjunction with the Marshalling plans you also need to consider the route safety signage that needs to be deployed, something that many other event organisers fail to identify and to fully appreciate.
We operate the Three W principle for signage
1) Where signage needs to be located on a route,
2) What information needs to be displayed, and
3) Who the signage is meant for.
We are fully conversant with signage design and deployment and our staff are fully trained to deploy it on any given route. We carry a vast amount of signage in stock to cover all types of sportive events of up to and over 100 miles in duration. Our signage plans are precise, accurate, and when deployed, informative.
To date where our marshal and signage plans have been used in conjunction with each other there have been no serious incidents or accidents. As importantly our signage is often favourably commented upon by participants as it makes them feel safe and confident whilst on route.
